Welcome EVMS Art Therapy Interns

CBA is pleased to welcome two new art therapy interns this fall thanks to our ongoing partnership with Eastern Virginia Medical School (EVMS). Art therapy is a supportive profession in which an art therapist facilitates client engagement in creative processes of art making and self-understanding.

Ms. Shaylene Perry received her BA in Psychology from Johnson State College. She will be graduating from EVMS Master of Art Therapy program in the Spring of 2024. Ms. Perry has a degree in fine arts with a specialization in glass and currently works in mixed media. Her favorite art process is sculpting with mixed media materials. She enjoys the beach, hikes and spending time with her daughter, Olyvia, and their 2 dogs.

Ms. Alexia Vicchio is a second-year student at EVMS. She completed her bachelors at James Madison University. Collage and painting are her favorite art processes and she loves going to the beach on the weekends with friends. “I’m incredibly excited to be working with middle and high school students this fall!”
