Pierce and Dog Man Author, Dav Pilkey

Pierce, a third grader in the lower school, loves reading—even though dyslexia has made it challenging at times. His favorite books include Junie B. Jones, Harry Potter, and especially the Dog Man series.

Recently, Pierce had the opportunity to meet Dog Man author Dav Pilkey, who is also dyslexic. During an interactive event in northern Virginia, Mr. Pilkey shared his own experiences with dyslexia and ADHD and encouraged students to embrace their strengths.

When Pierce told Mr. Pilkey that he, too, is dyslexic, he received kind words, helpful advice, and a signed copy of the newest Dog Man book. The experience was a powerful reminder that learning differences do not limit imagination, creativity, or success.
