Middle School STEAM Stations
In Ms. Severt’s middle school STEAM class, Fridays are dedicated to short, hands-on design challenges based on concepts students have learned throughout the week. These prompts encourage creativity while reinforcing structure, planning, and teamwork.
This week, students worked in teams to design a Children’s Garden. The challenge required each group to include a specific color scheme, an educational center, and a fun area designed for younger children. Students followed the Engineering Design Process, brainstorming ideas, planning their designs, and building together.
“Fun Friday” challenges give students the opportunity to apply technical skills in a creative way, collaborate with peers, and build confidence as they bring their ideas to life.
