CBA Artists Featured at VWU Event

Jazmine Beatty, CBA Art Teacher
CBA is proud to share that our art teacher, Jazmine Beatty, along with our former counseling intern Whitney Leao, will have their artwork featured at A Dream Deferred: Black Excellence, Voice, and Resistance, an upcoming event hosted by Virginia Wesleyan University.
The event highlights Black excellence, voice, and mental health through spoken word, music, visual art, and student scholarship. Ms. Beatty’s work, along with Whitney’s, will be included in the visual art portion of the evening, showcasing personal expression, storytelling, and reflection through art. It’s exciting to see members of our CBA family sharing their creativity and perspectives across the community.
The event will take place on Thursday, February 19, from 7:00–8:30 p.m. at the Goode Fine and Performing Arts Center at Virginia Wesleyan University. Attendance is free and open to the public. We’re grateful to support educators who continue to create, reflect, and inspire—both inside and outside of the classroom.
