A Look Into CadetNet Virtual Academy
While on-campus our CBA students use virtual reality (VR) in the MakerSpace, students in CBA’s new CadetNet Virtual Academy have also been working in VR. The CadetNet curriculum was developed by experienced CBA educators to align with the Common Core Standards of Learning. The same multisensory, differentiated approach to instruction that is delivered on-campus serves as the model for the CadetNet program.
Learning population density in VR
Ms. Miner, former CBA language arts teacher and CadetNet administrator, and Dr. Tilak, Director of CBA’s Center for Educational Research and Technological Innovation (CERTI) led an activity in VR to demonstrate population density. Students built rural and urban settlements to understand how humans inhabit spaces in different ways; in close quarters and spread out.

Learning integers in math VR
CadetNet math teacher and VWU faculty member, Mr. Hall, taught integers this week using virtual manipulatives. The goal was to understand addition and subtraction of negative and positive integers.
CBA is always innovating! Super cool work being done in a super cool space!
