Special Education Advisory Committee
Serves in an advisory capacity to the School Board on issues related to the education of students with disabilities.  The committee assists in the formulation and development of priorities and strategies for meeting the identified needs of students with disabilities, SEAC also submits periodic reports and recommendations to the School Board regarding the education of students with disabilities.

Specializing in college and postsecondary placements for students with learning differences and ADHD, Judith reviews a wide variety of options – educational, vocational and developmental – that are available to our graduates. Judy also discusses strategies to help families understand financial aid and the types of scholarships that are available. The session wraps up with a Q&A session for parents.

National Association for Gifted Children (NAGC)
Supports the needs of high potential learners and their families.

National Military Family Association
Support for military families with special needs family members is provided through the Exceptional Family Member Program (EFMP). Although each Service has its own EFMP, they all serve the same essential function: coordinating the assignment process to ensure special needs families are not sent to locations that lack adequate medical or educational resources.

Strategies For Teaching Students With Learning Differences In An Online Classroom
Middle school director Margaret Meyers was recently chosen to present at a Virginia Association of Independent Schools (VAIS) virtual professional development session for over 150 educators focused on serving the needs of unique learners during the COVID-19 pandemic.​ This VAIS presentation was a collaboration of six schools who offered their expertise to the other 90 members schools of the association. Mrs. Meyers offered a presentation on supporting the social and emotional needs of students in a virtual environment. In addition to being our middle school director, Margaret is also a certified Mindful Schools instructor.
