Mr. Deans became a board member in 1997 and served as chair from 1998-2002. Mr. Deans was a managing partner of McPhillips, Roberts & Deans, PLC, an accounting firm that he co-founded. He is now a partner of D & B Investments which acquire equity interests in operating companies, apartment communities, car franchises, a regional wholesale flooring distributorship, and a tour boat operator. His current affiliations include serving on the boards of the Virginia Beach Foundation, WHRO Foundation, Virginia Aquarium and Marine Science Center, and he serves on the steering committee of the Virginia Association of Independent Schools.
