Caleb Lumas Competes at AAU Youth National Championship
Best of luck to CBA middle schooler Caleb Lumas as he heads to the AAU 14 & Under Youth National Championship this weekend, where he will compete against some of the top young track and field athletes in the country!
Representing the Virginia Beach Flames under the leadership of Coach Nicholas Mayers, Caleb has qualified in three events: the 60-meter hurdles, long jump, and high jump. He enters the national championship ranked #1 in the nation in the 60m hurdles for his age group and #10 nationally in high jump — an outstanding achievement that reflects his dedication, discipline, and relentless work ethic.
The AAU Youth National Championship is one of the most prestigious youth competitions in the country, bringing together elite athletes who have advanced through regional qualifiers. Competing at this level is a testament to Caleb’s commitment both on and off the track.
Caleb’s success is also a reflection of the strong support system around him — his teammates at the Virginia Beach Flames, Coach Mayers’ guidance and mentorship, and the encouragement of his family and school community.
As Caleb travels to compete on the national stage, we wish him the very best of luck in all three events. Run fast, jump far, jump high — and most importantly, compete safely and confidently. Your CBA Family is cheering you on!
