  • CBA Expands Our Reach, Virtually!

Each year a significant number of CBA students come from families who are connected to the military. Many of those are active-duty families committed to relocating every two or three years. As these dedicated families receive their new orders, I’m regularly approached with questions about schools like CBA that these families might seek out in their new stations that will continue to meet the needs of their neurodiverse children. Sadly, the answer too often is, there are none.

It is said that from challenge comes opportunity. CBA’s success in leveraging technology to serve our students during the pandemic lit the way to bridging the gap for those who require a specialized education that would not otherwise be available to them in their local school settings. From the challenge of COVID-19, the opportunity of CadetNet Virtual Academy was born.

What is CadetNet? It’s an online curriculum designed specifically to meet the needs of students with learning differences. The program follows the Common Core curriculum including English/Language Arts, Math, Science and Social Studies. Included in the mix is content to address social and emotional learning needs, as well as individual academic therapy. Piloted in the summer of 2024, CadetNet launched this fall with middle school curriculum.

While online learning has been available for more than a decade, CBA is committed to providing a new and truly exceptional offering for military families, and ALL families with students who would benefit from a personalized education. With content delivered synchronously by highly skilled teachers, and the inclusion of gamified and 3D curriculum, the goal is to offer our online students a program that truly exemplifies teaching and learning in the 21st century.
