CBA & VWU Community Partnership

Dear CBA Community Members,

It is with great excitement that I share an update on the growing partnership between Chesapeake Bay Academy (CBA) and our close friend and neighbor, Virginia Wesleyan University (VWU).  In 2000, CBA built the current facility on land leased from VWU. Recently, VWU purchased our building and executed a long-term lease back to CBA. This transaction has significant financial benefits for both organizations and will create a wide range of new opportunities – academic, athletic, and extracurricular – for our community. Please note the Board and leadership of CBA will continue to be completely independent, as has always been the case.

We remain committed to CBA’s mission of providing outstanding education for our neurodiverse learners. Now, with additional resources at our disposal to meet that important mission, we look forward to expanding opportunities for the exceptional students and families of Chesapeake Bay Academy.
