Community
Welcome!

Dr. Judy Jankowski, Head of School
Thank you for your interest in Chesapeake Bay Academy. You will discover CBA to be a truly unique learning community for both you and your children. For the many families who explore CBA, more traditional school environments were not equipped to meet all of their children’s learning needs. Here at CBA, we look at your child as an individual and personalize instruction to provide a rigorous curriculum at a rate that is appropriate to each student. Children are viewed holistically and instruction is designed to coincide with the learning style and needs of each student, allowing them to find success in the classroom that had previously eluded them.
At the same time that your children find a community to connect with, you will find a community of parents who’ve also taken a more unique path. That common bond makes for deep and lasting friendships connecting our CBA families. It is a warm and caring community that values the richness of the diversity we embrace.
As the head of Chesapeake Bay Academy, I could not be prouder of our school. I invite you all to join me here and see the exceptional work that CBA teachers do every day. Come and learn how a CBA education could transform your child’s life. I look forward to meeting you soon!
Warmly,
Judy Jankowski, Ed.D.
Head of School
History
For over 35 years, Chesapeake Bay Academy (CBA) has been transforming the lives of Hampton Roads children and their families. At CBA we embrace each child’s unique learning style, creating new, specialized pathways to academic and social success. By relieving the stress and frustration that often accompany academic struggle, CBA helps students develop into confident and enthusiastic learners. Our students flourish in a safe, supportive environment that encourages their intellectual, social, creative, physical and ethical growth.
Chesapeake Bay Academy is an invaluable resource to the Hampton Roads community, filling a critical need and providing essential services to intelligent children who struggle to learn in traditional school settings. CBA’s low student-to-teacher ratio, multisensory instruction and project-based curriculum offers our students the opportunity to develop a true love of learning. Small classrooms, Individualized Instruction Plans and caring, highly-trained teachers lay the foundation for programs designed to ensure the academic achievement of each student. CBA empowers students with tools for success in school and beyond. Graduates leave CBA with the skills, strategies and confidence necessary to realize their full potential.
