  • Exploring Greatness with A Mural
This year’s Upper School Art kickoff mural project explores the theme of “exploring greatness”—embracing the unique gifts within us and using them to create positive change in the world. Inspired by “artivist” and muralist Ashley “ACE” Cathey, our students collaborated to create a community-centered project that celebrates both individuality and inclusivity.
The mural centers on the neurodivergent rainbow infinity symbol, chosen by students as a reflection of our CBA community. Inside the infinity loop, each student designed their own personal symbol to represent their unique qualities and strengths. To ensure authentic representation, students also gathered input from each school division and created accompanying symbols—making this a true full-circle collaboration that reflects our entire CBA community.
Just as Cathey uses her art to champion social causes, our students’ mural shines a light on the beauty of neurodiversity—encouraging acceptance, understanding, and appreciation for the many ways our community learns, thinks, and creates.
