Going for the Gold!
This summer, lower schooler Caleb Lumas’ hard work and dedication to track and field paid off, remarkably. After training year-round, Caleb made history by breaking the 11-year-old national record in the 60-meter hurdles – at just 10 years old! He then advanced to the AAU Junior Olympics, where he competed against the best athletes in his age group from across the country in four highly competitive events.
Caleb placed 6th in the pentathlon, 5th in the high jump, 3rd in the hurdles, and captured 1st place in the long jump. Even more impressive, Caleb currently holds the fastest time in the nation for his age group in hurdles and maintains the #1 national ranking. His achievements are a testament to his commitment, resilience, and passion for the sport. His family and all of us here at CBA are proud to celebrate his accomplishments.
Congratulations, Caleb!!!
