Just Dropped: Mission PROMISE Podcast featuring CBA & CadetNet
Mission PROMISE podcast host, Carla Wyrsch, recently interviewed Dr. Judy Jankowski, Chesapeake Bay Academy Head of School, and Mrs. Tara Miner, Director of CadetNet Virtual Academy about the importance of innovative learning for all.
As a Purple Star School, Chesapeake Bay Academy (CBA) is recognized for its strong commitment to supporting military students and families through initiatives that address the unique challenges these students face. While our brick-and-mortar campus was founded 36 year ago to serve students with diagnosed learning differences, CBA has recently expanded it’s reach to serve those outside the Hampton Roads area through our new online platform, CadetNet Virtual Academy. By meeting kids where they want to learn, CadetNet provides evidence-based virtual instruction for students with unique learning needs. The program features a full course of core subjects, aligned with the Common Core Standards of Learning, delivered by licensed educators. The curriculum includes 2-D gamified content and experience in 3-D virtual reality classrooms. Weekly individual check-ins, academic therapy and social emotional curriculum round out the experience using the “whole child” approach that CBA in best known for.
CadetNet Virtual Academy is now enrolling for Virtual Summer Programs and accepting applications for the 2025-2026 school year.
