Language Arts via Nature
Middle School Language Arts students took their learning outside for a creative and hands-on cyanotype (sun printing) experience! Using watercolor paper prepared with cyanotype solution, students carefully arranged natural items they found outdoors and then exposed their designs to sunlight to create beautiful blue-and-white prints. Watching their images develop was an exciting part of the process!Students then used their prints as inspiration for writing, identifying nouns and adjectives within their designs, and composing descriptive sentences. This engaging blend of art and language helped students connect with the world around them and the words they use to describe it.
