  • Ms. Farino’s Market Day

Ms. Farino’s lower schoolers brought their economics unit to life with a hands-on Market Day experience. After learning about goods and services, producers and consumers, and supply and demand, students stepped into the role of entrepreneurs by creating their own small businesses.

Each student developed a product or service, set pricing, and prepared to “sell” to their classmates. Throughout the activity, they made real-time decisions as both buyers and sellers, adjusting based on demand, availability, and interest.

The classroom quickly turned into an active marketplace, with students applying what they’ve learned in a practical way. It was exciting to see them think critically, problem-solve, and engage with one another as they navigated the experience.

What a great way for students to connect classroom concepts to real-world applications while showcasing their creativity and initiative!
