It was a ViBe: Middle School Visits Mural Festival

Middle school art students recently attended the ViBe Mural Festival to prepare for a collaborative mural project that is underway. The annual mural festival, presented in partnership with the City of Virginia Beach, runs through October 12th and features ten new murals painted by ten different Virginia artists at properties throughout the arts district. Sarah Richards, a student in the new Counseling and Art Therapy program at Virginia Wesleyan University, was selected as the featured college muralist who painted alongside the professionals. And coincidentally, one of the professionals who was also participating in the mural fest was former CBA  art teacher, Andy Harris.

Ms. Richards will be collaborating with CBA’s current art teacher, Ms. Jazmine Beatty – a talented artist herself – later this year on a new mural project on CBA’s campus!
