  • Read Across America Day!

This week was Read Across America Week! Students were encouraged to dress as their favorite story book characters as they participated in different reading stations.

Lower schoolers participated in five different activities connected to reading and Dr. Seuss. For The Horton Hears A Who!, students created contraptions that would safely hold an egg when dropped from a tall height. ForThe Cat in the Hat, students competed to see who could build the biggest “hat” out of red Solo cups and designed traps to capture Things 1 & 2 effectively. For The Lorax, students created their own Loraxes out of Nilla wafers and orange slices. And finally, for a mix of stories, middle school language arts students partnered up for read-alouds in the Kiva.
