  • Sharing Songs and Smiles with Westminster-Canterbury

Mrs. Kooiman’s middle and upper school students recently visited the Westminster-Canterbury Senior Living Community and filled the halls with music and joy, sharing their talents in a special performance for residents.

The program featured two energetic pieces rooted in the West African drumming tradition—“Woyaya” and “Give Light.” The audience was also treated to a solo performance of “Edelweiss” by Lilly Walp, a piano solo by David Ellsworth, and several full-choir favorites, including “Dona Nobis Pacem,” “Lean On Me,” and “You’ve Got a Friend in Me.” Each piece reflected themes of peace, friendship, and community.

A special thank you goes to Mrs. Kim Rowe for accompanying the group and capturing photos, Mr. Haniff Miller for safely transporting students in the CBA van, and Ms. Kooiman’s stage crew for handling the transport and setup of instruments. Together, their support made the performance possible!
