Soda Float Science!
Mrs. Olsen’s lower school science class has been learning about the states of matter; solids, liquids, and gases, through fun and interactive experiments.
To start, students played a game on the Vibe board answering multiple choice questions before being asked to make a prediction on the outcome of their soda float science experiment.
Next, students were given a cup with two scoops of ice cream, the “solid”. Then, the teacher poured soda, the “liquid”, overtop of the ice cream. The reaction in the cup caused the ice cream to bubble up due to the “gas” from the soda’s carbonation. Students observed the reaction while enjoying a sweet treat all in the name of science!
