Synnika Lofton: Keynote Speaker at Lit Fest
CBA is pleased to share that Synnika Lofton, upper school literature teacher, published poet and author, will serve as the keynote speaker at this year’s “Black Ink Block Party and Lit Fest”. Held at the Dr. Clarence Cuffee Outreach and Innovation Library in Chesapeake, the annual event showcases performances by talented artists while offering a great networking opportunities for authors from the city and surrounding areas.Mr. Lofton’s keynote speech will express the need to use writing as a form of constant transformation and evolution, and as a way to explore personal identity and liberation. He crafted his talk as a way to explore poetry and personal anecdotes. Synnika’s close friend, Greg Lee, rounds out the performance by partnering to provide live percussion. For Synnika, this is the event of the year!

The library will host indoor and outdoor literary activities from 12-5pm including readings, workshops, and panel discussions. This event features vendors, indie authors and food trucks. With a constant buzz of activity throughout the day, it makes for a great family outing!
