Ten Minutes at a Lower School Lunch Table
What started as a quick interview with Lower School Class President Carter R. turned into a glimpse of the strong friendships and support that define life at CBA.
During lunch, Carter and his friends shared their favorite parts of the school day, from Art and Makerspace to simply spending time together. When asked what being “class president” means to him, Carter said it’s about “making sure everyone’s okay” and helping care for the lower school.
As the conversation continued, the students talked about building things together, making up stories, helping friends, and encouraging one another. Their humor and honesty shined through when discussing their “perfect school day,” with several agreeing that going home early was hard to beat.
When asked what makes them proud at school, the students focused on friendship, doing their best, good grades, and helping others feel safe and included. And when asked if Carter is a good class president, the response from the table was immediate: absolutely.
What stood out most was the genuine kindness and connection between the students. In just a few minutes around a lunch table, it was easy to see how CBA creates an environment where students feel supported, valued, and comfortable being themselves.
