  • Welcome Tara Donahue: 4-5 Grade Teacher

Mrs. Donahue, 4-5 Grade Teacher

Initially joining us during our Summer Enrichment Program, we are excited share that Tara Donahue is our new lower school 4th-5th grade teacher. Born in Sanford, NC, Tara Donahue joined the U.S. Navy to become a Hospital Corpsman a year after graduating high school. She served 20 years in the Navy, where she met her husband, who is also a retired Navy Corpsman. Together, they have two dogs and four daughters ages ranging between 13-26.

During her time in the Navy, Tara found that in the moments she was educating and training her fellow service members, she had the most contentment in her job. This led her to pursue a teaching degree as she approached retirement. Tara attended the University of Maryland University College acquiring an Associates of Arts, and attended Virginia Wesleyan University obtaining a Bachelor’s in Arts focusing on Early Childhood Education.

“I enjoy working with students and adapting to their different learning styles. Working with different styles keeps me on my toes but also keeps me at my best. I am excited for the opportunity to work in an environment that truly focuses on the needs of the students! In my free time I like to read thriller novels, shop with my youngest daughter and spend time with my family and pups!”

Welcome to the team, Mrs. Donahue!
