Welcome Miranda Richard, Middle School Social Studies Teacher
CBA is excited to welcome Miranda Richard to our community as our new Middle School Social Studies Teacher!
Miranda holds a bachelor’s degree in English Literature and brings secondary classroom experience across grades 8–12, having taught Literature, History, and Logic. Before joining CBA, she spent three years at Veritas Academy and also gained experience working in childcare facilities, including daycares and summer camps. In addition to her teaching experience, Miranda does freelance research on history and antiques. Her background in literacy, research, and history provides a strong foundation for helping students think critically, make connections, and engage with the world around them.
Originally from Port Charlotte, Florida, Miranda moved to Virginia in 2022 after marrying her husband, JC, who wanted to return to his childhood town and explore new job opportunities. She has loved making Virginia home! Outside the classroom, Miranda enjoys painting, reading, watching TV, and traveling. She also collects antiques from the 1800s and 1900s, along with vintage clothing, reflecting her appreciation for history and the stories behind the things we preserve.
When sharing what drew her to CBA and what she hopes to accomplish, Miranda highlighted her appreciation for small class sizes, hands-on learning, and the opportunity to grow alongside her students:
“I am so excited to join the CBA family. I wanted to find a school with small class sizes and with a hands on learning style. This academy will help me grow and I intend to help students grow as well. I am very passionate about reading, writing, history, and also art. I believe these passions will help me thrive at CBA!”
Welcome to CBA, Mrs. Richard! We’re so happy to have you in our community and look forward to the passion, creativity, and love of learning you’ll bring to our Middle School students!
