Upper School Students Learn College Life Hacks at Batten University
Our Upper School students spent an afternoon on a college campus learning how to manage academic stress and, better yet, how to avoid much of it by staying organized.
Students attended the Get Your Life Together workshop at Batten University, hosted by the university’s Center for Neurodiversity and Career Development. The workshop is part of a monthly series held in Clarke Hall. This session covered practical strategies for handling the pressures of school and keeping up with assignments, deadlines, and responsibilities before they pile up. Topics included:
- Organizational skills: simple systems for keeping track of materials, notes, and to-do lists
- Calendar tricks: ways to map out deadlines, break big projects into smaller steps, and plan ahead
- College life hacks: everyday habits that help students stay balanced, focused, and in control
Our students were engaged from start to finish. They asked thoughtful questions and joined in the conversation. Many of our learners do best with clear systems and routines, so hearing these strategies from a college program showed them what organization and stress management look like at the next level. It also gave them a chance to start building those habits now.
Thank you to Batten University for continuing to create opportunities that help our students thrive!
